The word&nbsp;<em>solstice<\/em>&nbsp;comes from the Latin&nbsp;<em>solstitium<\/em>, meaning \u201csun stands still.\u201d And that\u2019s exactly what this day invites: a quiet moment to pause, breathe, and honor where we are in the flow of the year.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The solstice marks a natural turning point. We\u2019ve reached the peak of light\u2014and from here, the days will slowly begin to shorten. It\u2019s a moment full of symbolism:&nbsp;<strong>abundance, fullness, warmth, and the wisdom of knowing when to begin turning inward again<\/strong>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Even if we\u2019re not gathering around bonfires or ancient stones, we can still let this seasonal threshold speak to us. It\u2019s a beautiful time for some gentle self-care:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>Step outside and feel the sun on your skin<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Reflect on what has grown in your life since winter<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Set an intention for the second half of the year<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Whisper a prayer of gratitude for the light\u2014both outside and within<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<blockquote class=\"wp-block-quote is-layout-flow wp-block-quote-is-layout-flow\">\n<p><em>\u201cYou have made summer and winter.\u201d<\/em>&nbsp;\u2014&nbsp;<strong>Psalm 74:17<\/strong><\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n\n\n\n<p>Let this solstice remind you:&nbsp;<strong>light is sacred, and so are you<\/strong>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>In the coming weeks, I\u2019ll be writing more about the different areas of well-being and how we can care for our whole selves\u2014one breath and one day at a time.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Today is the&nbsp;Summer Solstice\u2014the longest day of the year in the Northern Hemisphere.
